Nike Top Super Bowl Commercial, Hare Jordan Featuring Michael Jordan
A group of basketball players noisily plays a pickup game but, underneath the floor, cartoon character Bugs Bunny is having a hard time sleeping in his rabbit hole. He pops up to find out what’s causing the racket and ends up being antagonized by the players. He pulls on a pair of animated “Hare Jordans” and then, in a mixture of animation and real-life action, he and basketball superstar Michael Jordan, in real Nike Air Jordans, take on and comically beat the players. As Bugs and Jordan walk off, Bugs Bunny says the classic line from “Casablanca,” “This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.” This ad first aired during Super Bowl XXVI but remains a favorite over a decade later.
