Some Preliminary Stats for Super Bowl LIII
The Ad Report will be coming in the morning, but for those who want a taste we have some preliminary numbers to share.
As of 11 PM EDT, there were 93 Super Bowl LIII ads from 54 unique brands. This was about the same as 2018. There were 60 spots for 2019, a reduction from last year, and 33 promos, which was an increase from 2018.
Preliminary numbers forSuper Bowl 53 indicate that ads generated 48 million online views, 1.1 million social actions and over 2.9 billion estimated social impressions for Super Bowl Sunday alone. Social impressions are estimated reach from ads from shares and engagement on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
These numbers are preliminary so be prepared to see updates tomorrow. Social activity will continue to occur through the night impacting standings.

Some Other Observations
- Amazon and the Washing Post are moving up the charts. It will be interesting to see where they are in the morning.
- Verizon’s ad, ‘The Team That Wouldn’t Be Here’ has quickly climbed up the charts with a touching tribute to first responders. The ad has already had 6 million views and climbing.
- Xbox’s inclusive ‘We All Win’ also won over hearts and Twitter feeds, increasing tissue sales everywhere.
- Marvel remains the conversation driver owning one-third of DSOV (preliminary) between the two movie trailers for Capital Marvel and the Avengers.
- Ads to look for in the morning to see how far they moved up the ranks are Bud Light’s ‘Jousting Match’ co-brand with HBO’s Game of Thrones and NFL’s ‘the 100-Year Game’, which is generating a lot of buzz.

Stats Through the First Half of Super Bowl 53
As of halftime, 76 Super Bowl LIII ads from 45 brands have generated 11.3 million online views, 545k social actions and over 1.4 billion social impressions. Some early findings:
Super Bowl Surprises
- Marvel’s trailers are stealing the conversation, accounting for over 40% of the Digital Share of Voice (DSOV) for Super Bowl ads on game day with nearly 340 million social impressions since airing.
- Bud Light’s Jousting, a Game of Thrones co-branded spot is climbing the charts. As of halftime, the ad was accounting for nearly 4% of the conversation with over 35k social actions and nearly 150 million social impressions.
- Audi’s ‘Cashew’ was an early leader that’s still scoring big time. At halftime, Cashew held 7.3% of the DSOV generated by Super Bowl ads on game day. That translated into nearly 900k views just today.
