Budweiser Top Super Bowl Commercial, Whassup?
A man sits on the couch during the big game and his phone rings. It’s another friend who is, predictably, sitting on the couch watching the game. They are drinking Budweiser beers. In succession, three more men join the conversation, two on other phones in the same houses and one on an intercom system from the entranceway, where he waits with a six-pack. Everyone says versions of “Whassup,” “Wazzup,” or “Whazaaa” in greeting and “True, true” in response and they are all drinking Bud. This Super Bowl commercial from 2000 started a pop culture trend.
