Volkswagen 2012 Super Bowl Commercial, The Dog Strikes Back
A large, pudgy dog is laying on the couch when he sees a red Volkswagen Beetle drive by. He attempts to run out of the house through the dog door but gets stuck when he realizes he has grown too large for his door. The dog sets out to lose weight by exercising around the house, dragging weights, attempting yoga, swimming and ignoring table scraps that fall on the floor. The car zooms by again and the dog is able to exit the house with his new, slim physique to run alongside the red car. The camera pans out to show the commercial being aired in the Mos Eisley cantina from the "Star Wars" series, where customers debate which Volkswagen character they like more. One of them speaks about missing the Vader kid, while his friend disagrees and says the dog is better. When the friend disagrees, he is force choked by Darth Vader across the bar before he is let go while admitting he was wrong. This Super Bowl commercial aired in 2012 during Super Bowl XLVI.
