Spurred on by a newspaper headline, a young girl named Rose (Millicent Simmonds) flees from her father's house in 1920s New Jersey in pursuit of her idol, a famous New York actress (Julianne Moore) to whom she has devoted an entire scrapbook. Fifty years later, a recently orphaned boy named Ben (Oakes Fegley) follows a clue that leads him away from his Minnesota home and which he believes will help him locate his long-estranged father. The stories of these two young children wishing for a better life intertwine in "Wonderstruck," an adaptation of the Brian Selznick novel of the same name.
