In early 1980's South Africa, a young, gay man reports for compulsory military service to defend the Apartheid regime on the Angolan border and quickly comprehends that he's not safe among his own countrymen. The culture at the base is toxic and draining, breaking recruits down and teaching them to violently reject any threat to the fragile minority rule. With compassion towards other races and homosexuality at the top of the list, Nicholas knows he could become a target at any moment. He tries to stay invisible, but the irresistible connection with a fellow soldier keeps them both in constant danger. "Moffie" is in theaters on April 9, 2021 and is not yet rated.
