Google Phones introduces the Pixel 6's Real Tone feature during Super Bowl LVI, focusing on a historical flaw in camera technology. A collection of photos and stories shares a glimpse into the long-standing struggle for those with darker skin tones to be reflected accurately on film. Candids and portraits, indoor and outdoor shots -- each picture reveals the limitations of lenses and film designed to best capture fairer complexions. "Until now," Google Phones says, as a collage of photos snapped on the Pixel 6 showcases its ability to capture richer, true-to-life skin tones in all kinds of lighting conditions. With resonant lyrics from her single "If You Love Me" setting the mood, pop star Lizzo gets the center spot as portraits of people of all colors come together with a final message: "Everyone deserves to be seen as they truly are."
