National Savings Day is on October 12th and AARP is celebrating that day by living up to Benjamin Franklin's adage, "A penny saved is a penny earned." Franklin himself left money to both Boston and Philadelphia with the stipulation that it couldn't be used for at least one-hundred years. In those years the $2,000 ballooned to over $6.5 million.
