Pepsi recognizes that we cannot celebrate Black culture without Black people, and that Black people are not currently granted the basic human rights of going on a run, sleeping safely in bed and breathing. It knows that we cannot solve racism with a can of soda, so it is pledging real change. Pepsi is pledging over $400 million over the next five years to fund undergraduate scholarships, Black-owned small businesses, community impact grants and increase its investment in Black-owned suppliers. Additionally, it pledges to amplify Black voices in its ranks by increasing its Black management population by 30 percent and expanding its recruitment from historically Black colleges and universities. Together, it hopes to fortify Black communities and be a part of progress.
