Author Leah Johnson joins Target for its Take Pride campaign and shares the origin of her novel "You Should See Me in a Crown" and some words of wisdom. She says that when she was a kid, there weren't many "stories where queer black girls were crowned queens and told that we're worthy" -- so she went ahead and wrote that story herself. Her message to young black girls who "deserve all the happy endings in the world" is to hold onto all the parts of themselves that people tell them to be afraid of, assuring them that the world is waiting for them to be exactly who they are.
