Oscar was diagnosed with cancer a week after his school closed as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. When he went into the hospital, he was able to use his tablet and phone to continue teaching his kids. The nurses were amazed that he was continuing to teach despite his diagnosis, but Oscar felt that because everyone was now isolated, he couldn't abandon his kids. Oscar credits Verizon for allowing him a way to bridge the isolation.
