Subaru has many years of experience in crash safety, but decided to take a different approach by attempting to prevent accidents from occurring. A vehicle crash simulation facility is used to test the EyeSight safety feature of the 2016 Legacy. During a trial, the car speeds toward a wall but recognizes the rear of a car and abruptly stops, preventing the crash.
