"O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" a child actress says, as she rushes through the night to meet her love in the famous balcony scene from Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet." From the costumes to the sets and video quality, the production level is high, with the wind even blowing through Juliet's hair as she recites her lines. But it isn't a film. Instead, as Romeo leans in to kiss his love's cheek, we see that it is a school play. Juliet's father is making a video on his iPhone 7, which features a 12-megapixel camera and image stabilization. As the proud father sees the look on his daughter's face and his eyes tear up, Apple says the "practically magic" capabilities of its newest offering will make movies captured on your phone look like movies you'd see in a theater.
