After first laying eyes on one at the zoo, a young girl takes on the spirit of the old Gayla Peevey novelty hit and wants nothing more than a hippopotamus for Christmas. In response, her parents order any and every hippo-related toy, lunch box and robot that they can find, all of which are delivered to their house by the USPS. On Christmas morning, the girl and her dog are on cloud nine playing with all her new gifts... that is, until she sees a deer on her front lawn and suddenly acquires a new fixation.
