Adoree' Jackson is a defensive back on the University of Southern California (USC) football team. Jackson believes science is important because there is always something new to be discovered and he can calculate things in practice to help him excel in the game. Chevron and PAC-12 team up to explain the science behind his pass coverage using a simple algebra formula; by combining his acceleration speed and top running speed in miles per hour, it is possible to determine how many yards he can cover per second. This is part of the Human Energy campaign by PAC-12 and Chevron that encourage STEM studies, using math and science to explain athletic success.
