As she walks down the street, coffee in hand, small-business owner Melanie Porter talks about how Square has made running a cafe much easier for her. She says the payment system allows her cafe, Lavender & Honey in Pasadena, California, to take any kind of payment including Apple Pay and chip cards as it also helps her reconcile all her accounting quickly on a daily basis. Square, she says, is a champion of small businesses like hers.
